Every two years, at the biennialD23Expo, The Walt Disney Company honors the most remarkable contributors to the Disney legacy, recognizing them as official Disney Legends. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Disney Legends Awards. The first Disney Legend was Fred MacMurray (The Shaggy Dog, The Absent-Minded Professor, The Happiest Millionaire), who was honored in 1987. Today Disney proudly announced the names of the nine gifted individuals who will be joining pastDisney Legendssuch as Julie Andrews, George Lucas, Alan Menken, Dick Van Dyke, Barbara Walters and Robin Williams....

Cinemarkis getting creative in trying to get customers back to its theaters. Movie theaters were shut down in the U.S. for much of the year starting in March. While many chains have reopened their doors in recent weeks, business has been slow to pick up, for a variety of reasons. In response, Cinemark is now offering private watch parties that will allow customers to bring a Blu-ray or DVD of their choosing to watch on the big screen....

In celebration ofStar Wars Day, Disney have unveiled their stunninglyreal lightsaberthat will be used at theStar WarsHotel in 2022. The real-life lightsaber, which rises from the hilt at the push of a button in all its blazing, humming glory, will be featured at theStar Warsthemed luxury hotel currently being built near Disney’s Hollywood Studios,Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, when it opens in 2022.
