Science fictionis a genre ofspeculation and imagination. A wonder of the stars begets the want of space travel. Manual labor was made more efficient with the inception of machines. Before, the computer was reserved for scientists in a laboratory. Now, there’s a computer in every home and pant’s pocket. Compound devices and multitasking tools have simplified life’s daily tasks. For any problem, there is a solution not yet invented. When reality is humdrum, science fictionplays with the possibilities, tests the theories, cements the laws, fashions worlds uncharted. Covering new ground, moving towards the future, which seems uncertain, while being informed by the past and present, which is certain, gives an optimistic comfort and awareness. Of the places one can go, there exists some familiarity with each step taken. Steps are soon replaced with tastes,a cultural palate for ideasexchangedover a good mealin some of the finest (strangest) restaurants the known universe has to offer.
