The next new episode ofThe Angry Video Game Nerdweb series will finally depict the character’s arch-nemesis Fred Fcks, and movie actor Gilbert Gottfried will be playing the part. In a new photo posted to Twitter of Gottfried and James “Angry Video Game Nerd” Rolfe together, the caption confirms the actor will be the one bringing the unseen “character” to life. The “Fred Fcks” name comes from film and TV producer Fred Fuchs, whose name Rolfe has previously chastised in an episode lampooning theNightmare on Elm Streetvideo game. Rolfe has since referenced an unseen “Fred F*cks” many times on the series, and now Gottfried will finally give the character a face.

Developed by Cinemassacre, theAngry Video Game Nerdseries is basically exactly as it sounds. The web series follows Rolfe playing a fictionalized version of himself reviewing some of the most controversial and infamously terriblevideo gamesfrom years past. Because they can often be difficult to play through, the irritable reviewer is known for chugging bottles of Rolling Rock just to be able to get through his reviews. More often than not, the video reviews end with Rolfe somehow destroying the game itself in ironic ways. Oh, and if you’re someone who finds filthy language offensive, you’re not going to be happy with one singleAVGNepisode.

AlthoughAVGNis primarily a web series,Gilbert Gottfriedwon’t be the first celebrity to appear in an episode. Last winter, former child actor Macaulay Culkin made a guest appearance on a holiday episode of the series to help reviewHome Alonevideo games. Initially, Culkin appears in the episode as a pizza delivery boy, later revealing his true identity to voice his frustrations on the variousHome Alonegames. By the end of the episode, Culkin and Rolfe become friends and set upHome Alonestyle traps around the room to torment the game cartridges. The actor would also appear on Rolfe’s related seriesJames & Mike Mondaysto playThe Pagemasteron theSuper Nintendowith the reviewers.

AVGNmight be a web series at heart, but the show has since ventured into other mediums outside of the internet. In 2013, it was given an official video game tie-in from FreakZone Games calledAngry Video Game Nerd Adventures. It was given an official sequel in 2016 calledAngry Video Game Nerd II: ASSimilationfrom the same developer. Additionally, the feature film adaptationAngry Video Game Nerd: The Moviewas released in 2014, which was also directed by Rolfe. Even still, while the web series has been in existence since 2004, Rolfe continues to release new episodes of the show online regularly as well.
