Over the weekend,Benedict Cumberbatchvisited a local New Yorkcomic bookshop in between takes as production onDoctor Strangecame winding to a close. The actor appeared in his full superhero costume at JHU Comics, where a photo was snapped and shared on the officialMarvel Twitteraccount. We even have video from the store’s surveillance cameras, courtesy of YoutuberRon Hill, that shows his surprise appearance. JHU Comics is also where directorScott Derricksonwas seen in a photo he released through his Twitter account, which revealed that production had officially wrapped.

Over the weekend, a number of newset photossurfaced asMarvel’sDoctor Strangeshifted production to New York City. As it turns out, the Big Apple shoot was an abbreviated one, as directorScott Derricksonbrought everything to a close for this Marvel Phase 3 adventure. Yesterday morning, the director sent out another photo with his crew in Nepal, thanking them for all their hard work on the set.

Productionstarted back in November, with filming first taking place in Nepal, before moving to London, Hong Kong, Kathmandu and New York City. Some of the new images that surfaced from the New York set this weekend gave us our first look atMads Mikkelsenas the mysterious villain, but we still don’t know exactly who he’s playing at this time. The actor was shown wearing unique makeup around his eyes, with a mysterious female character who also had the same makeup.

Doctor Strangetells the story of Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), an acclaimed neurosurgeon who uncovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions after a near-fatal car accident. The film will show audiences corners of theMarvel Cinematic Universenever before explored, thanks to directorScott Derrickson.Doctor Strangeis set for release on November 4, going up against Warner Bros.‘Bastardsand 20th Century Fox’sTrolls.
