The report reveals thatCaptain America: Civil WardirectorsAnthony RussoandJoe Russowill appear at a promotional event in Beijing on April 19, where the Chineserelease datewill be officially announced.Variety’s sources claim that the movie will make its Chinese debut on May 6, the same date thissuperhero moviewill debut in North America. StarsChris Evans,Sebastian StanandAnthony Mackiewill also be on hand for the Chinese event.
China has grown significantly over the past few years to become one of the world’s biggest international markets. Back in 2014,Captain America: The Winter Soldierdebuted with a $38.8 millionopening weekend, en route to $116 million in the country. The country only allows a handful of American movies to debut each year, and each film must be approved by a censorship board. It isn’t known if the movie will be altered in any way for its Chinese release.
