6 Biggest Changes the American Remake of Speak No Evil Makes to the Original Danish Horror Film

Skepticism is expected when a movie remake is announced. The new Speak No Evil is more of a reimagining, but what does it change from the original?

Speak No Evilopened in the No. 2 slot during its premiere on Friday, September 13, but the Blumhouse production didn’t have enough firepower to compete with No. 1Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. However,Speak No Evilhas yet to drop out of the Top 5 at the box office as it prepares to enter its fourth weekend in theaters, and McAvoy’s performance alone is worth the price of admission.MovieWeb’s own review ofSpeak No Evilcredits theX-MenandSplitactor with much of the horror film’s success. The critique reads as follows:

instar53339018.jpg

“McAvoy is a force to be reckoned with. A whole book could be written about his mastery of psychotic or just unstable characters over the years, and at times, McAvoy’s Paddy seems to manifest all 23 personalities from his Split/Glass films from M. Night Shyamalan simultaneously. It’s a pressure cooker of a performance, with the award-winning Scottish actor at times simply looking like he’s going to burst.”

Speak No Evilis now available through most VOD providers, includingFandango at Home, formerly Vudu. James McAvoy and James Watkins’ creepy collaboration can be purchased for $24.99, or rented for $19.99, at the time of this writing.
