Titus Welliveris about to wrap up his time as the lead of his own series with Season 3 ofBosch: Legacy, but he doesn’t believe this is the end for the character. While we already know that he will be making intermittent appearances in the newBallardspinoff series, Welliver also has hopes that Bosch will join the likes of John Krasinski’s version of Jack Ryan in getting a continuation in feature-length form.
They say that good things must come to an end, butthe announcement last September thatBosch: Legacywould be endingwith its third season was not met with a lot of enthusiasm by fans. With author Michael Connelly still producing new Bosch novels, many believed that the show, itself a spinoff of the originalBoschseries, would continue for at least a few more seasons. In fact, there doesn’t seem to be a hard and fast reason why the series is ending, but for Welliver, there is more story to be told. He toldTVLine:

“There’s always a distinct possibility, like they’ve done with Jack Ryan and Reacher, [for] spun off feature-length films. So, is there a possibility of life for that character? I think so. We had already been pre-planning what Season 4 was going to look like, because we’d ostensibly discussed the idea that Harry, as he does in the books, returns to be a volunteer detective for the San Fernando Police Department.”

‘Bosch: Legacy’s Cancelation Is Strange, Especially With a New Spinoff Coming
In many cases, streaming cancelations are not a surprise to anyone, but usually when things are not going well in terms of viewership or reaction. Like Prime Video’sReacher,Boschtaps into a popular genre and delivered strong results time and time again throughout its 11 years on screen. This made many question exactly why the series has been brought to an abrupt end, and Amazon has not commented on it as promotion for the new season ramps up.
Season 3 ofBosch: Legacywill premiere on March 27, and it will be followed in the future bythe Maggie Q-led spinoff,Ballard. Rene Ballard will appear first in the new season ofBosch: Legacyand then will be seen investigating cold cases in her own series. While a premiere date has yet to be announced for the new series, it is likely that we will seeBallardpremiere sometime late in 2025, or early 2026.

In the meantime, fans can always relive the previous seasons of bothBoschandBosch: Legacywhile waiting for the new episodes to arrive. Hopefully Welliver’s theory that there is still more to come from Bosch in his own right proves to be correct, and we have not seen the last full adventure for the character yet.
