The Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Avengers ushered in a new era last week with the premiere ofCaptain America: Brave New World. After threeCaptain Americafilms featured Chris Evans' iteration of the hero,Anthony Mackieled his own movie under that mantle. Previously known as the Falcon, his character, Sam Wilson, went toe-to-toe with Harrison Ford’s Thaddeus Ross aka Red Hulk in the latest installment. While reviews of the superhero flick are mixed, it’s the head-scratchingpost-credits scenesthat have left everyone talking.
BeforeBrave New World,Liv Tyler’scharacter, Betty Ross, was last seen in the 2008 reboot,The Incredible Hulk. With her character missing in action for decades, it’s difficult for fans to believe she was truly present for the scenes she recently appeared in. However, if Disney is to be believed, that’s precisely what happened.Past use of AI, Marvel secrecy, and general disbelief fueled claims that Tyler never stepped foot on set with Ford, Mackie, or anyone else. According toIGN, a Disney rep reached back out to them for clarification, stating not only was no AI or archival footage used, butTyler was present on set without a body double in her place. Some fans may be surprised to hear that, but all signed pointed to this being the truth.

All Signs Pointed To Liv Tyler Being In ‘Captain America 4’
Despite it being easy to distrust a major media company like Disney and accuse them of all sorts of trickery, the writing was always on the wall regarding Liv Tyler appearing in the film. She was one of the names previously spotted on set, so scenes being included featuring her shouldn’t be too surprising. AlthoughWWE superstar Seth Rollins had his scenes scrappedfrom the movie, if Tyler’s remained intact, it likely means she acted in the scenes and was not a figment of AI generation or CGI effects.

Harrison Ford has a strong view on A.I.’s place in the world, and what it will never take over.
Another sign pointing to Tyler actually being in the film is her appearance on the red carpet forCaptain America: Brave New World. Not only did the actress make a dazzling display on the red carpet, but she shared how much being included in the film, more than two decades after her previous MCU appearance, meant to her. While speaking toExtra, Tyler disclosed how it was touching to be in consideration of returning for the movie, and went on to disclose how important it was for her kids to finally watch her on screen.

Fans on social media not only were confused about whether Tyler was in the film, but they also couldn’t comprehend why Marvel went through the trouble of including her for such short moments. One user on Xwrote, “They really called her in for a 1 minute scene.” Another echoed that sentiment, stating,“I mean it’s Liv Tyler… That’s usually the performance lol.” However, another user thought that Tyler’s cameo was the highlight of the film, tweeting, “Liv Tyler was my favorite part ofCaptain America: Brave New Worldand she was in it for, like, 10 seconds. Like literally 10.”
