Nickelodeon’s90s TVslate is enjoying a rebirth of sorts. AndClarissa Explains It Allis one of the most beloved shows from that particular era.Melissa Joan Hartrecently sat down withEWto reminisce about her time spent on the hit series, which firmly had its pulse on theteen sceneof the 90s. And she explains that, under the right circumstances, we might just learn what happened to Clarissa in adulthood. She says this about a possible revival series.
“I just had a meeting with my agents where we were discussing the possibility of that, but that’s really up to Nickelodeon; I think they still hold the cards for that. It would depend on what the deal was, and it would depend on the situation and the character, like how is she used, who’s going to write it, because it’s got to be done right; if you do it wrong it’s just a bummer. It can’t just be slopped together because some fans might watch it.”
Nickelodeon is in the midst of rebooting its popular animated slate from the 90s. But there has never been any confirmation that they plan to bring back any of their popular live action series. Clarissa Darling turnedMelissa Joan Hartinto a household name, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see her and Nickelodeon come to some sort of agreement in presenting something new to audiences who are hungry for this type of comfort food entertainment.Melissa Joan Hartgoes onto mention how Netflix successfully approachedFuller House, and how that may serve as a potential model in moving forward with a reunion sitcom in the very near future.
“I’d be open to it. I don’t want to say no, but at the same time I’m not too thrilled about the idea; as with any reboot, it has to really be done right. I think withFuller House, they’ve taken a great approach with it. I’ll never say never, but it would have to be a very interesting scenario.”
Clarissa Explains It Allhas continued on in books revolving around the character, and it’s clear that there is more story to tell here.
