Conjuring 2 Opens with The Amityville Horror Case?

DirectorJames Wanis currently in post-production onThe Conjuring: The Enfield Poltergeist, which is set to hit theaters on July 16, 2025. No plot details have been confirmed, but the title clearly states that this story centers onEd Warren(Patrick Wilson) andLorraine Warren’s (Vera Farmiga) real life investigation of The Enfield Poltergeist, which took place in the late 1970s. However, a new report fromBloody-Disgustingclaims that the story may open with theWarren’sinvestigation of the 1974 Amityville murders, which served as the basis for the 1979 classicThe Amityville Horror.

Bloody-DisgustingreaderAngelo Mancinireached out to actress Alexa Najera on Twitter, asking if she plays Dawn DeFeo. Dawn was one of original murder victims inThe Amityville Horrormurder case, along with her sister Allison, brothers John and Mark, and parents Ronald and Louise. The actress responded that she is actually playing Allison, not Dawn, seemingly confirmingThe Amityville Horrorconnection.

One year after the DeFeo family murders, George Lutz and his family bought the Long Island house, but they ended up fleeing from the house after experiencing a number of disturbing paranormal occurrences. As it turns out, 20 days after the Lutz family fled,Ed WarrenandLorraine Warreninvestigated. It seems that the opening ofThe Conjuring: The Enfield Poltergeistwill feature the Amityville case, but it isn’t known if there will be any connection to the Enfield case, which takes place thousands of miles away in Brimsdown, Enfield, England.

Additionally, the IMDB page forThe Conjuring: The Enfield Poltergeistlists actressSarah Cortezas Dawn, which is likely Allison’s sister, with Jennifer Collins listed as Louise and Michael DeBartolo listed as Ronald Sr., which are likely the DeFeo parents. The names of the DeFeo sons are not listed yet, but there are a number of actors who don’t have their characters listed at this time.

The Enfield Poltergeist haunting took place between 1977 and 1979, several years after the Amityville murders, so we’ll have to see how these two cases tie into each other, if they do at all.
