Does Avengers 3 Photo Hint at Doctor Doom's Return in the MCU?

Last week, theRusso Brothersshared a new photo on their Facebook page, teasing a location they were scouting forAvengers: Infinity War. The photo didn’t necessarily give away any plot points, with the directors photographed on a staircase along with two unidentified crew members. The filmmakers recently took to social media to share what appears to be yet another location scout photo, but this time, the filmmakers deleted the photo, which has since been preserved so you may see it below.

Much like the first photo, there doesn’t appear to be any significant spoilers contained within this new image, which has since surfaced onTwitter, leading many fans to speculate why they removed the image. The directors are seen in what looks to be an older building with stone arches, which some have already speculated could represent Latveria, which would mean that Marvel has somehow managed to secretly get back the rights toFantastic Fourvillain Doctor Doom. This villain plays a pivotal role in theInfinity War comics, but it has not been confirmed that he will have a presence in the movie.

It has also been theorized that this location could representAsgard, which would also make sense sinceThor’s homeland also plays an integral part in theInfinity Warstory. Still, even if the photo represents Asgard or Latveria, the directors didn’t identify what this particular location may or may not be shot for, and it remains unclear why they posted and then promptly deleted the image from social media. It remains unclear if this will alter the way the directors share images on social media.

While it may be quite some time before an official synopsis is released, producer and Marvel Studios presidentKevin Feigeteased earlier this month that this massive superhero adventure will feature some “unexpected team-ups,” which isn’t terribly surprising when you consider how many characters will likely surface in this movie. The Russo Brothers have previously teased there will be upwards of 67 characters in this movie, a figure they later backed away from, but it has also been said that this movie, and theAvengers Sequelset for release on June 06, 2025, will unite the entire MCU.
