The CW’sGotham Knightshas recruited a fan favorite horror star to play Joe Chill, a key villain inBatmanlore. Typically, Joe Chill is depicted as the mugger who murders Thomas and Martha Wayne, starting the chain of events that leads to young Bruce Wayne ultimately becoming Batman. PerVariety, it’s been reported that the character will be featured in The CW’s upcoming seriesGotham Knights, and he’ll be played byHellraiserfranchise starDoug Bradley. Bradley’s Joe Chill will appear in episode 6, revealing that the murderer has spent the past 50 years on death row for the double homicide. Now scheduled to be executed, Joe has more secrets to divulge, even after all this time.
“When casting the iconic role of Joe Chill, arguably the man who created Batman, there was only one name we considered – Doug Bradley," reads a joint statement penned byGotham Knightsco-creators Chad Fiveash, James Stoteraux, and Natalie Abrams. “We needed an actor with the kind of gravitas that would do justice to such a seminal character in DC Comics canon. And who better to embody the role of the classic Gotham fiend than the man whose legendary portrayal of another classic fiend – Pinhead in theHellraiserfranchise — continues to terrify generations of horror fans?”

Also set to guest appear in the series is Veronica Cartwright, who will play Eunice Harmon, a seemingly sweet lady who has a secret, dark past. Real-life couple Ethan Embry and Sunny Mabrey have also been cast as married couple Arthur and Crystal Brown; the former is also known as the Cluemaster in Gotham City.
