AfterBlack Adambecame one of the recent setbacks in the DCU, and the series about his life,Young Rock, was canceled, The Rock is ready for a new hit.
As he prepares for his official return to theFast & Furiousfranchise not only in the next film in the main saga, but also in a new solo movie for his character Luke Hobbs, Johnson wants to dominate the screen this Christmas withRed One. The upcoming Amazon Studios Original movie in which he stars alongside Chris Evans and J.K. Simmons arrives in December, and could set a new record for the former wrestler’s career.
Johnson will soon return to play another of his iconic characters in the live-action adaptation ofMoana, which was announced earlier this year as part of the long line of reimaginings of Disney classics, despite the fact that it has only been seven years since the original premiere of the film.
The Rock is also set to return along with Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot to the Netflix screen in theRed Noticesequel, which isalmost ready to start filmingaccording to the formerWonder Womanstar.

At the moment, no relevant details about the plot of the film have been shared, although it is described as a buddy action comedy that seeks to reinvent the Christmas genre. Another important detail is that Simmons will play Santa Claus himself in the film.
TheRed Onecast is rounded out by Bonnie Hunt as Mrs. Claus, Kiernan Shipka, Lucy Liu, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Nick Kroll, and Kristofer Hivju. Johnson and Evans, meanwhile, will play Callum Drift and Jack O’Malley. The movie will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
The Rock already has some experience in buddy action comedies thanks toHobbs & Shaw, the firstFast & Furiousspinoff movie in which he starred alongside Jason Statham, released in 2019. Hobbs will return in a new film that will show him trying to find Jason Momoa’s character, Dante Reyes, the great villain of the latest installments of the saga that Dominic Toretto and his family will have to face, surely along with Dwayne Johnson’s character as well.
