The news that the newGhostbusters Afterlife sequelhas wrapped filming has given many fans hope of the film hitting its release date of December 2023. While discussing the upcoming return of the iconic busting group, starErnie Hudsonexplained toScreenRantthat he is happy to be back again with the old gang, but the direction of the movie is not exactly what he would have done with the characters. During his conversation, Hudson also revealed that Annie Potts will be back as Janine, joining Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd as the returning original movie’s stars.

“As we introduce new stories, and new characters, that’s what moves the whole thing forward, but we’re still a part of it, so it was great to see Bill Murray, and Danny Aykroyd, Annie Potts, it’s great to see them there, and really just enjoying it and enthusiastic about being there. It’s different, it’s not necessarily the direction I would go in, but I just love being part of it, and I think the fans will like this new direction, but we’ll see.”

While it seems that this time around the original Ghostbusters will have more of a presence than inAfterlife, Hudson suggested that they will still not be the central characters in the story.
