Love Is Blindis among the many reality dating shows that have captured a lot of attention. The premise is that people date through “pods” (conjoined rooms separated by a thin wall in between), and they get to know the person on the other sidewithout seeing themfor 10 days before potentially proposing and meeting one another face to face. Then, a month-long adventure begins and leads the newly engaged couples up to their wedding day.

Within five years,Netflixhas released eight seasons, and while many fans see that the social experiment has its flaws, plenty of viewers are still hooked on seeing the craziness unravel between couples who get engaged before seeing their partner.

Love Is Blind

8Season 5 (2023)

WhileLove is BlindSeason 5certainly had its fair share of reality TV drama, many fans agree that it was by far the most frustrating season to watch.Love triangles and feelings shiftingaround after the face-to-face reveal are expected, but the cast who made it beyond the pods were nothing but toxic. Izzy and Stacey knew they were not compatible the moment they started talking about finances once back in the real world. Stacey even went as far as criticizing Izzy’s lifestyle and experiences on her wedding day, and her family certainly did not help as they made Izzy feel like an outsider with a thin wallet.

Everyone Was Toxic in Season 5

During the group vacation, Taylor and JP went back and forth on the fact that Taylor likes to wear makeup. Lydia and Milton (the only couple to end up getting married) had their hiccups along the way due to Lydia’s past with another cast member, Uche, and her short temper. In the end, viewers were very surprised to see how calmly Milton handled everything, butonly having one successful couple and the hours of annoying and petty dramaput this season in the very last spot on the list.

The Best Dating Shows, Ranked

Dating shows are essentially glorified trash TV, yet an increasing number of us are tuning in now more than ever before. Here are the best…

7Season 8 (2025)

There is no way around it;Season 8ofLove is Blindwas a real bummer. This stems mostly from a lack of good male contestants, lacking any ‘nice guys’with a lot of heels and drama. This would not have been an issue if the reunion was full of hot gossip and confrontation; people love seeing a success as much as a car wreck. However, that never materialized, with many feeling it was a softball reunion episode lacking depth.

In the end, only one couple ended uptying the knot, Taylor and Daniel, which is not unheard of for the series, but one that many felt was a disappointing outcome. The final episode generally lacked the drama fans crave and is considered by many to be the most disappointing of the show. Two couples, Sara and Ben, and Virginia and Devin, also turned a lot of the season into political talking points. With fans more than ever seeking escapism, these political conversations have become a major drag to sit through. Sara and Ben, in particular, breaking up over Black Lives Matter and LGBTQ+ rights discussions was a controversial point of contention for many.

6Season 2 (2022)

For entertainment value,Season 2was a step up from Seasons 5 and 8, but not by much.Six couples made it out of the pods engaged, but there seemed to be more heated arguments and uncertaintythan passionate conversations. Shayne constantly fished for compliments, Shake openly expressed how his lack of physical attraction to Deepti was a major issue, Danielle and Nick never seemed to be on the same page, and Shaina refused to even stick around to get to know her partner in a group setting.

Season 2 Dealt with Selfishness in Both a Positive and Negative Light

In the end,no one seemed truly in love with their partner; that includes the two couples who got married at the altar (butdivorced one year later.) The only storyline that was truly redeemable to come out of this season is Deepti’s empowering decision to choose herself. She had been mature about the whole process and even tried to understand Shake’s concerns. However, after nearly six weeks of knowing her fiancé, she ultimately chose to walk away, knowing she deserves a man who does not hesitate to love all of her.

5Season 7 (2024)

Season 7ofLove is Blindsits in the middle of the pack, though it does not get this spot for its flair.Season 7 was largely seen as boring, with a lot of time spent in the pods, and lacking any dramatic rejections like previous seasons. The couples failed to really resonate with many, except Garrett and Taylor, who came across as one of the few authentic pairs, and faced challenges while also bonding on their similarities to make it to the altar.

For those who like the train wreck aspect, Hannah and Nick gave amasterclass in toxic relationships, with Hannah’s constant need for control over Nick pushing a foreseeable divide between the two. Ramses’ pseudo-white knighting to appear chivalrous made him a heel, and Marissa had to deal with an awkward conversation about contraceptives with a selfish Ramses. Tim and Alex offered some levity, albeit alongside frustration.Who breaks up over dishes and a nap? Fans have been placing this one as mid to their least favorite, and it makes sense; it is mostly dull with a few highlights and only two couples tying the knot.

4Season 6 (2024)

InSeason 6there was a huge social media presence showcasing the main cast members and their real lives (and pasts) outside the experiment, but even within the show, viewers have seen more drama than anyone should be able to handle. From quick breakupsthat seemed to happen without much of a closing conversation to a few love triangles that created way too much tension, fans were on the edge of their seats every Wednesday, waiting for the drama to unfold.

Unfortunately, as chaotic and thrilling as it is to see relationships fall apart and secrets get revealed before the reunion episode, the purpose ofLove Is Blindis for cast members to find love. More people seemed to have “ill intentions,” as Jeramey has called it, when they signed up for the show.Season 6 was packed with passion and romance, but the scandals and lack of commitment to the experiment loom over the latest episodes.

The Best Dating Shows, Ranked - RP

In all, as far as entertaining reality TV goes, this season is at the top of the charts, but in comparison to other seasons that have felt more genuine with cast members focusing more on their partner than the cameras, it falls short.

The Fundamental Flaws of Netflix’s Love Is Blind

Love is beautiful, and everyone deserves it. However, now that Love Is Blind has been out for 4 years, we noticed there are a few flaws to the show.

3Season 3 (2022)

Season 3certainly kept audiences entertained with all the ups and downs that come with the relationships that were created in the pods. There was heartache as well as hope after everyone got back to reality, and a couple of big surprises even happened while the ladies were standing in their beautiful white dresses at the end of the aisle. In terms of reality TV, the third season kept fans gnawing at their nails, and there were a couple of clear favorites as far as Twitter was concerned.

Season 3 Was Everything Reality TV Should Be

Cole and Zanab were rocky from the start, so their parting came as no surprise. However, Zanab’s lengthy speech at the altar did catch Cole and a few others off-guard. Nancy was blinded by love, while Bartise seemed like he still had some growing up to do.SK shocked everyone when he was the one to say no, even after Raven had jumped through so many hoops to prove that she would be a great wife. Colleen and Matt, as well as Alexa and Brennon, were the only ones to come out on top, and it seems like they are genuinely happy to have gone through the roller coaster that isLove Is Blind.

2Season 4 (2023)

Season 4 was wild, crazy, exhausting, and everything that a reality dating show needs to bein order to be considered “top tier,” but it still comes in as number two on this list.

First and foremost, Irina and Micah put all the other mean girls to shame with how judgmental and rude they were during the group vacation. Love triangles were all over the place with Kwame being engaged to Chelsea, but Micah popping up to have her thoughts and feelings about him heard. Then Zack proposed to two women, both of whom said yes, but fans were eternally grateful that Irina decided to stay true to her shallowness and leave him, giving Bliss the second chance she so rightfully deserved.

Season 4 Kept Us on Our Toes With Twists and Turns

Tiffany and Brett came out on top as the ultimate power couple of the season (and possibly the whole series), and the friendship between Brett and Marshall certainly did not go unnoticed. Even after Marshall’s ugly split from Jackie (who potentially cheated and then started going out with another cast member, Josh), he and Brett remained positive and supportive of one another. Overall,it was wholesome to see three couples power through and be there for one another, and there was certainly a warm and genuine acceptance among the open-minded individuals who tried to make things work within the experiment.

Love Is Blind Should Leave the Forced Weddings Behind

Connecting emotionally, getting engaged, meeting, and marrying is central to Love Is Blind, but the show should leave the forced weddings behind.

1Season 1 (2020)

With such a great review for season four, many of you may wonder exactly how the first season ofLove Is Blindcould possibly come in asthe absolute best season. Well, it all comes down to being true with the social experiment. Season one was shot in 2018, but it did not come out until 2020.The cast members and couples did not know what to expect, as nothing likeLove Is Blindhad ever been done before. The 10 episodes that depicted the craziness of the pods all the way to the final “I dos” and “I do nots” have a more wholesome feel to them in comparison to the judgmental and trying-to-get-slightly-famous vibe of the other seasons.

Season 1 Was the Only True Experiment

From fans absolutely falling in love with Cameron and Lauren’s love story to the back-and-forth whiplash we all practically got from Giannina and Damian, the interactions just feel more authentic in season 1. Of course, there was some drama that shocked even the individuals who were in the thick of it — Diamond and Carlton getting into a horrible shouting match and Jessica clearly not getting over her feelings for Barnett — but the reactions still felt real.

Now that everyone knows the layout of the show and what to expect, there may be, as Season 6’s Matthew puts it, people trying to just get to a C-list celebrity status. The honesty of being on the show in hopes of finding one’s true love has significantly diminished, so it only makes sense for the season with the truly authentic relationships and reactions to receive the top spot.
