Ezra Miller may face removal from theDC Extended Universeprojects after releasing the upcoming filmThe Flash. A few months ago, Ezra Miller faced arrest in Hawaii after allegedly assaulting a couple. Before heat turned down on that matter, Miller faced a second arrest there, which clouded his involvement in the upcomingThe Flashfilm,where he plays the lead. However, Warner Bros.cleared that there is no immediate decision to remove the actorfrom the movie, which is already in the final stages of post-production. But, after recent development in another one of Miller’s antics, the studio might be forced to take a call on its association with the actor.
After Miller’s taunt to police officialsin a now-deleted Instagram post, it is believed that the actor has increased their troubles. This could force Warner Bros. to make a decision that will be creatively and financially intricate for it, given that Miller is a part of DCEU’s most crucial project to date. According toDeadline, the actor has put the studio in a dangerous situation and that they may no longer be a part of future DC projects. The report says,
There is no winning in this for Warner Bros. This is an inherited problem for [David] Zaslav. The hope is that the scandal will remain at a low level before the movie is released, and hope for the best to turn out. In Zaslav’s plan to make DC an explosively successful division like Marvel under his newly structured studio, with its own new boss, the non-binary identifying Miller, we hear, is simply not a part of those plans going forward in the future universe regardless if there are more allegations or not.
Miller is recently accused of brainwashing and kidnapping 18-year-old Tokata Iron Eyes, their life-long fan. Miller took her to an unknown location, unbeknownst to her parents, which led to an official investigation against the actor. The actor has since avoided contact with the authorities and is technically a fugitive of the law.Eyes, however, has denied allegationsof kidnapping, claiming that going with Miller was her decision.

Warner Bros. in a Critical Situation Over the Issue
Warner Bros. is now in a tough spot with Miller. The studio, regardless of the further outcome of Miller’s case, will have to take action that would appease the fans. The studio avoided controversy surrounding Miller during the release ofFantastic Beasts: The Secret of Dumbledore; however, Miller’s screen time in the film was limited. But withThe Flash, in which Miller leads in a dual role, Warner Bros. can’t hide the controversy as the film is still developing.
Warner Bros. had removed Johnny Depp from theFantastic Beastsfranchise after he was deemed a “wife-beater” in a UK court owing to allegations of assault against his ex-wife Amber Heard. After Depp’s recent win in a defamation case against Heard,the studio seeks to cut Heard’s role short inAquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Now, it probably will be necessary for the studio also to uphold its stance against Miller. But, replacing Miller would be more complicated.
While Warner Bros. removed Depp fromFantastic Beastsbefore he shot major footage for the film, Heard’s role was already shorter than the previous film inthe Aquamansequel. On the other hand, Miller has already finished work onThe Flash, and director Andy Muschietti has also patched several VFX shots with Miller.
So, Miller will inevitably be a part ofThe Flash, but Warner Bros. might have to let them go after this filmdespite the positive response to test screenings. So far, Warner Bros. has not released any official statement, but the decision regarding Miller’s future withDCEUmay only come out officially afterThe Flashreleases next year.
