Family Guyseason 18 is looking like it’s going to ramp up the weirdness factor by a lot. Fox released the trailer today at San Diego Comic-Con. Series creator Seth MacFarlane and the rest of the cast were on hand at the annual event, promising that the long-talked about movie is still going to happen. MacFarlane says the big screen adaptation is on his “to do list” and that he already has a premise set up. While that project isn’t going to be out for a while,Family Guyseason 18 kicks off this fall and unites Peter withBeavis and Butthead.

Released atSan Diego Comic-Conearlier today, the four-minute trailer forFamily Guyseason 18 is a little all over the place, but that is exactly what fans have come to expect from the show over the years. Peter sits on the couch withBeavis and Butt-Headwhile wearing a Boyz II Men t-shirt with some ridiculous 90s hip hop hair. Elsewhere, Quagmire takes on living with over 70 cats and Peter can’t decide which beverage he wants with cat hair in it.

Meg finally gets a boy to tell her that he loves her, only for him to die right after. This leads to what looks like aWeekend at Bernie’ssituation, but with a boyfriend for Meg. In a typicalFamily Guyfashion, it’s weird, dark, and it goes on for way too long.Seth MacFarlaneand crew have been delivering the goods for years now, so it will be interesting to see how that equates on the big screen after so many years of doing the show.

As forFamily Guylasting for 18 seasons, Seth MacFarlane never thought it would reach this point. The show has survived cancelation and is one of the most beloved animated shows in history, right up there withThe Simpsons, which is now preparing for its 31st season. MacFarlane had this to say about the show’s longevity.

“I never thought it would go this long, in my wildest dreams .. I think animation sort of exists in its own bubble universe that is so far moved from reality… It’s a strange beast that’s living outside the rules of proper society as we know it.”

Family Guyseason 18 will premiere September 29th and things are going to get pretty strange. After going on for so long, many have often wondered if there will be any other spin-offs, particularly withBrian and Stewie. Seth MacFarlane didn’t rule the idea out, but it doesn’t sound like something he is interested in. He says, “I thinkFamily Guywould have to expire (before that happens),” which is understandable. “I think, at this point, Family Guy is going to outlive me,” concluded MacFarlane. At this point, he’s probably right. The series shows no signs of slowing down now. Check out the season 18 trailer below, thanks to the Animation on Fox YouTube channel.
