Back in December,Fargoseries creatorNoah Hawleyconfirmed that Season 3 of his hit FX series will be set in 2010, four years after the events of Season 1, which took place in the year 2006. Season 2 took the action back to 1979, but the series creator/producer teased that some characters from the first season may surface in Season 3. Today we have word that the series has added its first new cast member,Ewan McGregor, who will be pulling double-duty by taking on dual roles.

Entertainment Weeklyreports thatEwan McGregorwill portray Emmit Stussy and his younger brother Ray Stussy in the series. No other cast members have been confirmed forSeason 3quite yet, and it still isn’t clear what other characters from Season 1 may be back. Take a look at the official description of the Stussy brothers below.

“Emmit Stussy is the Parking Lot King of Minnesota. A handsome, self-made, real estate mogul and family man, Emmit sees himself as an American success story. His slightly younger brother, Ray Stussy, on the other hand is more of a cautionary tale. Balding, pot-bellied, Ray is the kind of guy who peaked inhigh school. Now a parole officer, Ray has a huge chip on his shoulder about the hand he’s been dealt, and he blames his brother, Emmit, for his misfortunes.”

The role will mark the first series regular role forEwan McGregor, who most recently appeared on the small screen in two episodes of HBO’sDoll & Em. Production is scheduled to begin onFargosometime later this year, with the season slated for a2017 debutonFX.
