Back in September,Vin Dieselrevealed a new photo fromFast 8, while revealing that thefirst trailerwill debut on Sunday, December 11. While that date is six days away, a new preview has arrived, which features several stars discussing what makes this franchise special, including footage from the previous seven movies. We also get some new piecces of behind-the-scenes footage, which offers another glimpse at the new villain Cipher, played byCharlize Theron.

This preview debuted onTwitterthis morning, which also reveals that the full trailer will be streamed live from a special event in New York City, with the entire cast in attendance. This two and a half minute preview features starsVin Diesel(Dominic Toretto),Dwayne Johnson(Luke Hobbs),Michelle Rodriguez(Letty Torreto),Tyrese Gibson(Roman Pearce) andLudacris(Tej Parker), along with new footage of what became known as the “zombie car drop,” where cars were being dropped out of a parking garage in Cleveland, along with footage from the Iceland set and much more.

Back in August,Dwayne Johnsonmade headlines for calling out some of hisFast 8male co-stars for their unprofessional work habits, calling them “candy asses.” While he wouldn’t state which cast members he was referring to, it is believed that he was referring toVin Diesel, who would reportedly keep the cast and crew waiting for hours before he was ready to shoot.Dwayne Johnsonhas since clarified that this conflict has been resolved, with some rumors even surfacing that claimed it was all part of a promotional stunt that will lead into a wrestling match betweenDwayne JohnsonandVin Dieselat next year’s Wrestlemania, which takes place just days beforeFast 8hits theaters next April. That has never been confirmed or announced.

Universal hasn’t released an official plot syopsis quite yet, but the bulk of the action is said to take place in New York City, with production also making history by becoming the first major studio motion picture to film inCubain more than 50 years. This happened after the U.S. lifted the trade embargo and travel restrictions with Cuba. It is believed that these scenes in Cuba will introduce fans to Dominic Toretto’s Cuban family, but that has yet to be confirmed. There has also been talk thatVin Dieselhas had conversations with the latePaul Walker’s brothers,Caleb WalkerandCody Walker, about potentially bringing his character Brian O’Connor back for the franchise’s last two films,Fast & Furious 9(July 13, 2025) andFast & Furious 10(July 17, 2025), but that has yet to be confirmed.
