Fast XdirectorLouis Leterrierwill not abandon his newfound family following the release of the upcoming tenth outing, with the filmmaker now confirmed to be directingFast and Furious 11. The news comes courtesy ofVariety, who have confirmed that Leterrier will stay in the director’s chair for the eleventh installment, with bothFast X and FastandFurious 11all set to wrap upthe hugely popular action franchise.

“Louis joined the ‘Fast & Furious’ team seamlessly, with an innate understanding of the franchise that is stronger than ever after two decades. Under his direction, ‘Fast X’ is a high intensity thriller with all the spectacular action, emotion, and twists that the fans have come to expect – and then some,” Universal Pictures president Peter Cramer said of Leterrier sticking around for more. “We are thrilled that he will continue to work his magic in the director’s chair.”

Leterrier was brought in to helmFast Xunder very dramatic circumstances. The original Fast X director and franchise staple Justin Lin had been due to direct bothFast and Furious 10and11, but sadly the filmmaker walked away from the project not long into filming afterreportedly butting heads with star Vin Diesel.

Fast X and Fast & Furious 11 Will Wrap Up the Action Franchise

Fast X, the tenth outing in theFast & Furious Saga, will launch the final chapters of one of cinema’s most storied and popular global franchises.
