Netflix has released first look images from their new seriesHaters Back Off. All eight episodes of the comedy will premiere globally on October 14 at 12:01am PST exclusively on Netflix. These new images give us just a hint at the bizarre adventures we’re in store for this fall. And comeHalloween, we suspect there will be more than a few costumes roaming around based on these wacky characters.
Based on the character created by Colleen Ballinger,Haters Back Offdelves into the oddballfamily lifeof Miranda Sings. An incredibly confident, totally untalented star on the rise, Sings continues to fail upward by the power of her belief that she was born famous. It’s just no one knows it yet.
The series stars Colleen Ballinger as Miranda Sings. She is joined by a stellar ensemble cast that includes Steve Little (Eastbound & Down) as Miranda’s overly confident and utterly misguided Uncle Jim,Angela Kinsey(The Office) as Miranda’s mom, Bethany, and Erik Stocklin, as Miranda’s neighbor and best friend, Patrick. Colleen Ballinger, Christopher Ballinger, Perry Rein, Gigi McCreery, Jeff Kwatinetz and Josh Barry serve as an Executive Producers on the series and Haters Back Off is produced by Brightlight Pictures.
Miranda Sings was created in 2008 and became an Internet sensation on Youtube. She was noticed by comedianJerry Seinfeld, who brought her on for an episode of hisComedians in Cars Getting Coffeeseries, interviewing Colleen Ballinger in character, the only time he has done such a thing on the series. He later appeared with Colleen in character onThe Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, giving Miranda Sings a big boost in notoriety. Some even believe it helped her land a sitcom deal. Though, surprisingly, the credits don’t list Jerry Seinfeld as a producer.
