After making some off-colored remakes about how much the newGhostbustersreboot was going to suck, many thoughtErnie Hudsonwouldn’t be invited to the party. After a couple of public apologizes,Ernie Hudsonhas made nice with directorPaul Feigand hisall-female cast. Now, the man who will forever be remembered as ghost skeptic Winston Zeddmore is joining fellow GhostbustersBill MurrayandDan Aykroydfor a cameo appearance in the new horror comedy. This means all of the original haint hunters will be back with the exception ofHarold Ramis, who passed away in 2014.

Ernie Hudsonstarred in both the 1984 originalGhostbustersand 1989 sequelGhostbusters 2. His character was a hired hand brought in to help with some of the heavy lifting. No character details have been revealed forErnie Hudsonin the newGhostbusters. But we know he won’t be reprising Winston Zeddmore. In this world, none of the original Ghostbusters exist. This is a complete overhaul of the franchise, and takes place in an alternate universe.

Ernie Hudsonwas one of the strongest opponents of a new rebooted franchise. He hated the idea when he first heard it, saying it ‘would be a bad idea’. Of course, he later changed his tune. The film starsKristen Wiig,Melissa McCarthy,Leslie JonesandKate McKinnon. About this line-up,Ernie Hudsoncalled them ‘four fiercely funny, foxy, females busting ghosts … phenomenal!“Ernie Hudsonwas spotted on the set this Saturday, during the last day of filming.

Bill Murrayis believed to be playing a a man out to debunk the girls and theirghoststheories.Dan Aykroydis playing a cab driver who givesKristen Wiiga lift. While we’re not sure how many call backs the film will have to the original, we do know thatDan Aykroydwill get to say the iconic line, ‘I aint afraid of no ghosts.’ Nothing else about the three original Ghostbusters and their appearance in the movie has been revealed.

The original gang aren’t the only ones getting cameos in the new movie. DirectorPaul Feighas reportedly brought onheavy metaliconOzzy Osbournefor scenes involving a rock concert. The scenes in question were shot at Boston’s Citi Wang Theater. The arena was transformed into the Stonebrook Theatre for an event dubbed “Rock Revenge Fest featuringOzzy Osbourne,” which is part of a “12 Hour Marathon of Metal.” TheBoston Herald’s “spies” overheard several crew members talking aboutOzzy Osbourneoutside of the arena.Kristen Wiig,Melissa McCarthy,Leslie JonesandKate McKinnonwere all said to be filming the scene inside this arena, but it isn’t clear how theseGhostbustersend up at the rock concert.

Plot details have been hard to come by since production began, but one rumor claims that, years ago,Kristen Wiig’s Erin Gilbert wrote a book withMelissa McCarthy’s Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy), which revealed that ghosts are real. Erin loses her teaching job at Columbia University once word of her book resurfaces, and she reteams with Abby and her new partner, Jillian Holtzman (Kate McKinnon) and Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones). Together, they must save New York from a supernatural threat.

The supporting cast includesChris Hemsworthas theGhostbusters’ secretary andAndy Garciaas the Mayor of New York City, alongsideMichael K. Williams,Matt Walsh, Pat Kiernan andNeil Casey. Now that shooting is complete, we should be getting our first look at footage soon. No trailer release date has been announced, but we’ll probably see it sometime in October, timed to Halloween.
