Titan fans rejoice! Production on the nextGodzilla x Kongmovie has officially begun, and not only does it have a release date of July 18, 2025, but we now know the film’s official title. DubbedGodzilla x Kong: Supernova, the latest entry in theMonsterVerseis directed by Grant Sputore from a script by Dave Callaham and Michael Lloyd Green. This will mark thesixth movie in Legendary’s franchisesince it began in 2014 withGodzilla.
The news was unveiled by Warner Bros. today on social media with a cryptic video that announced the new title (seen below). Fans were treated to what looks like a Monarch call center as the camera pans around to focus on a computer screen. “There have been a number of Titan sightings today all over the globe,” comes the voice of a news reporter in the background. The screen then changes to display a warning, with the threat level labeled as SEVERE. It urges people to dial (240) MON-ARCH, and when called, fans are met with a recorded message that says:
“Thank you for calling the Monarch community support hotline, your global resource for Titan response and relief. Your help in reporting Titan sightings plays a critical role in keeping our world safe.”

There’s no lack of ‘Godzilla’ movies, but watching them in chronological order makes taking them all in so much more exciting.
Directions to receive texts from the MonsterVerse are then given, followed by several different options. When callers press 2 to report a Titan sighting, they’re given these instructions:
“All agents are currently busy. At the tone, please record your message. Assure that you are in a safe location before recording. In order for our support team to properly assist you, we ask that you provide as much detail as possible. Please share the location and time of your sighting, as well as physical attributes, utterances, or behavioral information about the Titan you wish to provide. Be advised, your report may be archived for Monarch personnel training, or broadcast in future briefings. Your call is very important to us, and we thank you for reporting this sighting. Stay safe and vigilant.”
What is ‘Godzilla x Kong: Supernova’ About?
It goes without saying that plot details remain under wraps forGodzilla x Kong: Supernovaat this time, so it’s too early to tell what direction Sputore and company are taking it. Based on the replies to the Warner Bros. post, fans are eager to see SpaceGodzilla, who first appeared in Toho’s 1994 filmGodzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla. Others are hopeful for Mechagodzilla, but again, it’s too soon to tell which TitansKong and Godzilla will face off against next.
What we do know is thatGodzilla x Kong: Supernovais loaded with star power, as already-announced cast members include Kaitlyn Dever, Dan Stevens, Jack O’Connell, Matthew Modine, Delroy Lindo, Alycia Debnam-Carey, and Sam Neill. Of those names, Stevens is the only returning member thus far, reprising his role of Trapper fromThe New Empire.
Needless to say, even though it’s still two years away, we’re already psyched aboutGodzilla x King: Supernova, and can’t wait to see what the MonsterVerse has in store for us next.
