Hollywood legendHarrison Fordhas revealed what drew him back to one of his most iconic roles in the upcoming sequel,Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Speaking withVariety, Ford said he always wanted to do one moreIndiana Jonesmovie to “see the end” and confirmed thatIndiana Jones and the Dial of Destinywould be his final time donning the whip and fedora.
“I always wanted to do it. I wanted to do the rest of the story to see the end of his career.”
Revealing that he felt there was one moreIndiana Jonesstory to tell, Ford declared that it would be the last time that audiences see him play the beloved character.
“It’s the last time for me.”
While many are sad to see Ford hang up the famous hat for the final time, others are concerned thatIndiana Jones and the Dial of Destinywill see him pass the baton on to another character, with the franchise continuing with a different lead. Asked recently whether this was the case, Ford said, “No, I’m just telling a story, telling a story. You’ll see, you’ll see. I hope you like it.”
Director James Mangold, meanwhile, is adamant that Indy will not pass the mantle onto anyone else. Very adamant, indeed. “One more time. No one is ‘taking over’ or replacing Indy or donning his hat nor is he being ‘erased’ thru some contrivance- and he never was, not not in any cut or script – but trolls will troll – that’s how they get their clicks,” Mangold said, taking to social media to put several ongoing rumors to bed. “And please don’t exhaust me pointing out how once in a while a troll is ‘right.’ Even a blind squirrel finds a nut now & then. All one has to do is look at set photos & interviews & u get enough info to make wild guesses about a movie plot.”

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny Will Explore the 60s Space Race
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destinywill drop audiences in 1969, picking up with American archeologist and adventurer Indiana Jones now living against the backdrop of the Space Race. But Jones is uneasy over the fact that the U.S. Government has recruited former Nazis to help beat the Soviet Union in the competition to make it to space. His goddaughter, Helena, accompanies him on his journey, with the pair attempting to stop Jürgen Voller, a NASA member, and ex-Nazi involved with the moon-landing program, who wishes to make the world into a better place as he sees fit.
