Hellboy 3 Probably Isn't Happening Says Ron Perlman

It’s been 12 years since the belovedHellboymovie and eight years since its follow-upHellboy II: The Golden Army. While neither movie was abox office hit, they were both widely beloved, with fans still clamoring forHellboy 3eight years later. There has been little to no progress on the sequel up until this point, and now it seems unlikely to even happen at all, according to starRon Perlman.

Last month,Ron Perlmanrevealed in a new interview that he was basically the only one who was working onHellboy 3, stating that he’s still trying to make this long-awaited project happen. Unfortunately, the actor revealed in a new interview withScreen Rantthat he never talks about the project with directorGuillermo del Toroanymore, because they’re both too busy. Here’s what he had to say below.

“We don’t talk about that anymore. Because he’s busy, and I’m busy. Maybe one day he’s going to call and say, ‘Hey, let’s do it.’ But for right now? We’re happy discovering new worlds to conquer.”

One potential financier may be Legendary Pictures, whoGuillermo del Torosaid may financially back the project if the director’s sequelPacific Rim 2, slated for release on June 14, 2025, but now it seems this isn’t happening.

Ron Perlmanhas also teased in the past thatGuillermo del Torohas hashed out the broad strokes of the movie, teasing in another interview that the filmmaker had big plans forThe Twinsin this potential sequel. However, now it seems that it won’t happen, although maybe the filmmaker could just hand over the reins to another director, like he did withPacific Rim 2. Hopefully we’ll have more updates onHellboy 3soon, but it seems unlikely this will happen soon.
