We’re a little more than a month away from the premiere ofHeroes Reborn, which brings back some of the original characters from the hit NBC seriesHeroesthat debuted in 2006 and ran for four seasons. The network has released a new TV trailer, which sets up the epic quest at the heart of this limited series.

Fans anxiously awaiting the return ofHeroes Rebornwere given some good news last week, when NBC announced that the show will kick off with a two-hour premiere on Monday, September 24. As a result, theSeason 3premiere ofThe Blacklistis getting pushed back one week to Monday, October 1 at 9 PM ET. Following the two-hour premiere ofHeroes Rebornwill be the series premiere ofThe Player, starringWesley Snipes, at 10 M ET.

NBC also announced thatHeroes Rebornwill air its two-hour premiere at the Toronto Film Festival next month. The premiere will be part of thefilm festival’s new Primetime program, which will screen six different TV shows from around the world, withHeroes Rebornset to be the only major broadcast series that will be showcased. Other programs includeJason Reitman’s Hulu seriesCasual, the Argentinian seriesCromo,Netflix’sKeith Richards: Under the Influence, theSeason 2premiere of the hit French seriesThe ReturnedandBaltasar Kormákur’s Icelandic seriesTrapped.

From creator/executive producerTim Kring, who imagined NBC’s original critically-acclaimed 2006Heroesseries, comesHeroes Reborn, an epic 13-episodeevent seriesthat chronicles the lives of ordinary people who discover they possess extraordinary abilities. The series stars Jack Coleman,Zachary Levi,Robbie Kay, Kiki Sukezane,Ryan Guzman, Gatlin Green, Henry Zebrowski,Judith Shekoni, Danika Yarosh and Rya Kihlstedt. With the September premiere getting closer, hopefully we’ll hear more about the series soon.

Aside from Jack Coleman, who returns as H.R.G., other stars from the original series are coming back, such asGreg Grunberg(Matt Parkman),Masi Oka(Hiro Nakamura),Jimmy Jean-Louis(The Haitian), andSendhil Ramamurthy(Mohinder Suresh). The series takes place five years after the events of the originalHeroes, and the trailer that debuted atComic-Conalso revealed two more returning cast member, Cristine Rose as Angela Petrelli and Noah Gray-Cabey as Michah.

This latest preview shows some of the new characters as they set out on their epic quest. And it ends with the return of Hiro Nakamura as he enters into battle against a foe in a parking garage, proving just how much he’s improved with his swords. Fans of the original show know that the main characters gained their powers during a similar eclipse, so that dynamic will be kept intact inHeroes Reborn.
