Fans of the series can agree that the show’s second season has picked up tremendously compared to the first. The Equalizer

The Death of Bishop

Nearly a year afterChris Noth’s firing from CBS, writers ofThe Equalizerhave officially killed the character of William Bishop off the series for good. The Golden Globe and SAG Award-nominated actor had previously portrayed Bishop,a former CIA director and mentor to Robyn McCall (Queen Latifah). Bishop, an intricate part of the show, was a regular cast member and a great ally to McCall amid her pursuits to uncover justice for those who contacted her. His firing came after allegations of assault were made against the actor late last year. Allegations against Noth first came up in a July 12, 2025, article inThe Hollywood Reporter, where two women had accused the formerSex and The Cityactor of sexually assaulting them.

While the death of Bishop was not much of a surprise, after the death of the acclaimed Mr. Big character in HBO MAX’sAnd Just Like That(the revival to hit seriesSex and The City),fans of the CBS television series have wondered what comes next.

The Developing Relationship Between Dante & Robin

So far,The Equalizerseason two has set up a possible onscreen romance between Dante (Tory Kittles) and Robyn (Queen Latifah). Back in season one, a now-former Det. Marcus Dante teamed up with Robyn McCall (an ex-high ranking CIA agent) to solve a series of unjustified crimes throughout the metro area. While Dante once wanted to expose her due to the mounds of pressure from higher officials, the two ultimately became much closer after McCall struck a deal with District Attorney Grafton (Jennifer Ferrin) after saving her from being held hostage. Dante, who desperately wants to solve the ongoing crime in his district, teams up with Robyn without the knowledge of his department to aid those victims that have lost faith in the police system.

In episode thirteen of season two, Dante is abducted by two on-duty police officers for no justifiable reason at a local gas station while he is with his two sons. After realizing he is a fellow cop, the two officers make a plan to kill him and hide his body until Robyn comes to his aid and rescues him. After episode thirteen, we see Dante and Robyn grow closer after Dante decides to resign from the force following his abduction and significant injuries. Obviously, the people in both of their lives can see the admiration the two have for one another.
