Towards the end of the movie, Steve will sign a deal with the One World Government in order to spare the lives of his allies who followed him into battle, fighting against theSokovia Accords. Once he surrenders, the government has him killed. This, as true believers know, follows the same exact storyline seen in theCivil Warcomic books written by Ed Brubaker.
In ‘The Death of Captain America" storyline that played out in the Marvel comics, Rogers was assassinated byCrossbones. We know Crossbones is in the movie, but earlier rumors suggested that he is part of the big action sequence that opens the movie and not Cap’s death. In this storyline, Bucky Barnes, played bySebastian Stan, becomes Captain America for a short period of time. Apparently, three different Captain America: Civil War endings have been shot, each featuring a different actor taking on Steve Roger’s superhero mantle. Those actors are said to beSebastian Stan,Anthony Mackie(Falcon) andEmily VanCamp(Sharon Carter). In the comics, both The Winter Soldier and Falcon have become Captain America. But this will be a first if Sharon Carter assumes the name.
Falcon and The Winter Soldier are both expected to carry on the title in future movies. But it’s speculated that Marvel wants to throw a huge curve ball by introducing a Female Captain instead. And it’s being called a smart way to generate some buzz. It’s also possible that Marvel and Disney insiders floated this information into the public to gauge their response, and see who fans truly want to see carry on in Steve Rogers’ shoes. If Marvel goes with Sharon Carter, this will be the first major live-action gender-swapped superhero in movie history.
One of the big moments in the Civil War comic book comes when Bucky Barnes blames Tony Stark for Steve’s death. In the trailer released last month, many believe that Barnes is mouthing ‘Steve’s Dead’ when he grabs Iron Man’s face during their big title bout.
