Hugh Jackman’s performance as Wolverine inDeadpool & Wolverinehas been praised by fans as one of the actor’s best, and it might be because he used the Marlon Brando method. While Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) quips his way through the movie, a depressed, alcoholic variant of Wolverine carries the film’s emotional weight. Jackman delivers some of the movie’s most hard-hitting lines. But, according to a playful video released by Ryan Reynolds, the Australian actor needed some help remembering what they were.
Reynolds released a hilarious behind-the-scenes video onInstagram(which you can check out below) of himself andHugh Jackmanfilming a scene from the movie. The fake blooper shows Jackman taking several attempts at the line, “I’m the best there is at what I do. But what I do isn’t very nice.” After Jackman delivers the line successfully, the camera cuts to Deadpool’s coverage, showing the character wearing a placard with Jackman’s lines on it.

The moment is a spoof ofMarlon Brando’s famous actingtechnique. The iconic actor struggled with line memorization and, as a result, would place cue cards around the set, and on his co-stars. As the pair walked off-screen, Ryan Reynolds says:
“Brando was kind of an innovator.”

Deadpool & Wolverine
A follow-up to the highly successful Deadpool and Deadpool 2 films starring Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with a Mouth. The third film will be the first in the franchise to be developed under the Marvel Studios banner following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox.
The slideshow on Instagram also featured an edited, black and white screenshot of the scene fromDeadpool & Wolverine, side-by-side with Marlon Brando inThe Godfather. Alongside the post, Reynolds wrote:

“A lot of people have rightly praised Hugh’s acting masterclass in #DeadpoolAndWolverine. How did he do it? Talent, yes. Commitment, yes. But also a big assist to what can only be called “The Brando Method.” Strasberg better watch out.”
Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman Could Return to the MCU
Deadpool & Wolverinewas aheartfelt love letter to the X-Men’s time under 20th Century Fox. Closing with a farewell video of behind-the-scenes footage from past X-Men movies (set to Green Day’s ‘Time of Your Life’),Deadpool & Wolverinemarks the end of an era as Disney now own the rights to Marvel Comics' most popular characters. However, it might not be the end for Deadpool and Wolverine.
Ryan Reynolds Opens Up About Deadpool & Wolverine’s Success in Heartfelt Message
Ryan Reynolds appears to be as shocked as anyone that Deadpool & Wolverine has performed even better than expected at the box office.
Neither Ryan Reynolds nor Hugh Jackman have confirmed thatDeadpool & Wolverinewould be their final outing as their iconic characters. Many thought that Hugh Jackman was done after James Manglod’sLoganin 2017. However, the prospect of a team-up with Reynolds' Merc with a Mouth brought Jackman out of retirement. The end ofDeadpool & Wolverineleft the characters open for a return.

Both heroes, along with some other fan-favorite characters from theDeadpoolmovies, are alive and well at the film’s closing party. And, Deadpool still possesses the technology to jump between timelines, meaning he could easily appear in a futureAvengersmovie (perhaps Deadpool could questionRobert Downey Jr.’s return inAvengers: Doomsday).
