One of James Gunn’s Most Surprising DCU Movies Reportedly Has a Fighting Chance After Cancellation Rumor
DC fans are anxiously waiting on James Gunn to confirm the news.
In addition to Mister Terrific’s technological prowess, the character is also considered to be one of the smartest in the DC Universe. While the character hasn’t been as prominent in comics recently, Gunn has been known to take an interest in less popular comic book titles and heroes. Because of the director’s unique vision, characters from both Marvel and DC, such as Rocket Raccoon, Ratcatcher, and Peacemaker, have become more well-known and profitable.

Mr. Terrific Could Have a Bright Future in James Gunn’s DCU
Gunn would continue his praises by delving intoStrange Adventures’interpretation of Mr. Terrific, specifically saying that the comic had “the best version ever of one of my favorite characters, Mr. Terrific.” The director would even end his string of tweets praising the book by hypothetically asking himself if he would ever consider bringing the character to film. The rest is history, as Mr. Terrific is now one of many heroes, alongside Hawkgirl, Green Lantern, and Metamorpho, who will be appearing inSuperman.
James Gunn’s reverence for source material and his fundamental understanding of what makes a good comic book has hopefully helped to makeSupermana better adaptation. Moreover, Gunn has recruited Tom King, writer of theStrange AdventuresandSupergirl: Woman of Tomorrowcomics, to executive produce and script theLanternsseries for HBO, further emphasizing the trust the director has in the comic writer’s interpretation of these larger-than-life characters. It will be exciting to see Mr. Terrific receive the big-screen treatment the character deserves from a filmmaker who couldn’t be a bigger fan.
