As most fans already know,Easter eggsare one of the truly fun and distinguishing elements of movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Perhaps nobody took advantage of putting Easter eggs in their movie likeJames Gunndid withGuardians of the Galaxy. However, there is still one huge Easter egg that nobody has found, at least according to the director, and now he has put up a lot of money to assure a fan how serious he is.
Yesterday,James Gunndecided to do a Q&A on hisFacebookpage, something he often does. Another thing that often happens these days is fans asking about thatfinal Easter egg. When a fan claimed the Easter egg didn’t exist and thatJames Gunnwas being the “ultimate troll,” he decided to show just how serious he was, to the tune of $100,000. Here is whatJames Gunnhad to say.
“Tanin Moores If there is no Easter egg I will give you a hundred thousand dollars - copy this post - I will consider it a legally binding contract - signed, James Gunn.”
If there is one thingJames Gunnis, it is dedicated to his fans. So, having said what he said, it is almost a sure thing he would pay up were it revealed that this final, mysteryGuardians of the GalaxyEaster egg was, in fact, a big exercise in trolling. But there is no way he would put up that kind of money so publically and go so far as to say it is “legally binding” if he were trolling. That is too risky. Unfortunately forTanin Moores, that $100 thousand probably won’t be in his future. So, fans are just going to have to keep looking for that final Easter egg. Easier said than done at this point.
A ton ofGuardians of the Galaxy Easter eggshave already been found. Some of the bigger ones include Cosmo, the Russian cosmonaut space dog who was a member of theGuardiansteam in the comics, The Collector’s trophy room, which held Adam Warlock’s cocoon and a whole slew of other Easter eggs, and tons of pop culture references.James Gunnhas made it clear he has no plans on revealing the Easter egg and hasn’t even hinted at what it could possibly be. Maybe he will eventually cave during the press tour forGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2next year.
