Deadpool & Wolverinewas filled with several notable cameos, but perhaps none was more talked about than Chris Evans making a triumphant return to the MCU. While it first looked like Evan’s incarnation of Captain America was back, a familiar catchphrase made it clear that a different hero was on-screen. After hearing Evans say “flame on,” any thought of Captain America being back went out the window, igniting excitementfor the return of Johnny Reed aka The Human Torch. However, he may not be the only originalFantastic Fourcast member willing to return, asJessica Albahas expressed interest inreprising her role as Sue Storm afterDeadpool & Wolverinefeatured her on-screen brother.
Evans resurrecting hisFantastic Fourcharacter not only left fans on the edge of their seats, but it inspired fellow co-star Jessica Alba toponder the possibilities of her grand return as the Invisible Woman. In an interview withCollider, Alba opened up aboutthe impact Evans reprising his character had on her, revealing her own MCU aspirations in the process, stating:

“[Susan Storm]’s kind of a legend. It was like 20 years ago. That was a long time ago…I loved doing the Marvel movies, and I’m a big fan of Disney also. I will be watching. My kids are fans as well, so I would love to be part of that universe any time.”
Deadpool & Wolverine
A follow-up to the highly successful Deadpool and Deadpool 2 films starring Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with a Mouth. The third film will be the first in the franchise to be developed under the Marvel Studios banner following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox.
Fantastic Four Universes Could Collide
WithFantastic Fourgetting itslong-awaited reboot and rightful inclusion into the MCU multiverse, a lot of options could be on the table. Jessica Alba’s desire to reprise her Sue Storm character could materialize in some capacity, with the original cinematic Fantastic Four possibly appearing inAvengers: Secret Wars. Plus, withRobert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom casting, anything is possible. Perhaps, Julian McMahon could return as well, bringing his own flavor of Doctor Doom from the previous incarnation.
Why the Fantastic Four Are the Most Important Marvel Heroes
The Fantastic Four arrival in comics changed superheroes forever and launched the Marvel Universe, and they are now set to revive the MCU.
While there’s no way of knowing if Alba will ever return, she is not the only former female hero expressing a desire to have a comeback cameo. After Hugh Jackman brought his iconic portrayal of Wolverine to the MCU, Halle Berry teased bringing her version of Storm for apotential X-Men return inSecret Wars. As the multiverse saga in the MCU comes to a close, it is now or never for former Marvel actors to make their long-awaited return to their iconic roles.
