She-Hulk: Attorney At Lawdid surprise us with some interesting plot points and a very exciting nod to a new member of the Hulk family. But nothing beats the unexpected cameo from Kevin Feige, or say, K.E.V.I.N. Intheshow’s final episode, Jen Walters breaks the fourth wall to confront MCU boss Kevin concerning the bizarre villain fight that occurs in the middle of the show. But instead, she finds that Kevin is actually K.E.V.I.N.; Knowledge Enhanced Visual Interconnectivity Nexus, an AI computer using entertainment algorithms to produce Marvel Studios films and television series.
The AI computer has the same position and space as the real Kevin Feige at Marvel Studios, with writers and other producers respectfully fulfilling his commands. But, unfortunately, the fans couldn’t have the real human guy cameo as himself. However, it’s not like series writer Jessica Gao didn’t attempt to make that happen. In an interview withComicBook.com,Gao revealed that she wished for the man to do the voice for K.E.V.I.N., but Feige apparently thought it would be like going too far.

That is not Kevin [Feige’s] voice, that is a voice actor we hired. We campaigned very hard for Kevin to do the voice and he refused.
It wasn’t Kevin’s voice, but it was the most unforgettable cameo ever seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The extreme fourth-wall break in the finale was insane enough to give the audience a nice roller-coaster ride. And with K.E.V.I.N. thrown in the mix, they got the most incredible surprise and exciting confrontation they could have hoped for. In the show, Jennifer teases K.E.V.I.N. with similar character arcs between characters like Tony, Thor, and Star-Lord and even teases the AI with an X-Men reference. These subtle and hilarious hints alone made K.E.V.I.N. the best part of the show.
K.E.V.I.N. Gets the Same Treatment as Human Kevin
It’s not just the baseball hat that K.E.V.I.N. wears that refers to Kevin Feige’s personification in the AI. The computer even got the same treatment from other characters as Feige gets from his team in real life. In the show, Jennifer receives some hostile comments from Marvel Studios writers when she talks about K.E.V.I.N. The employees at Marvel Studios seem pretty respectful and even protective of K.E.V.I.N., treating him like a God-like figure.
Speaking toMarvel.com, writer Jessica Gao revealed that the fake writers in the fourth-wall break sequence talk about the AI computer like other employees at Marvel talks about Feige. She said:
It was just so funny to make these writers revere Kevin in the way that everyone at Marvel Studios reveres Kevin. This is kind of how Kevin is talked about at the studio. I mean, I really drew so much from real life to put into that section of the finale.
Kevin, or K.E.V.I.N, was the most thoughtful character in the show. Now thatDeadpool IIIis in production, and he is another character that breaks the fourth wall, we might get a glimpse of the hat-donning AI again. Hopefully, it’s not the last of K.E.V.I.N. in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
