Joseph Quinn, who is set to burn up the summer box office as Johnny Storm in Marvel Studios’The Fantastic Four: First Steps, seems to have teased his potential return to theA Quiet Placefranchise. Quinn appeared in last year’s hit prequelA Quiet Place: Day One, and the fate of his character is left unknown at the end of the film, leaving the plot open for Quinn to return for a sequel.

When asked byColliderif he discussed his open-ended fate with the filmmakers and about the possibility of a return to the franchise, Quinn said,“It was, yes. I said I got to stop dying. So please don’t kill me… But, no, it’s been left very much unanswered. Who knows? Who knows? We’ll find out.”

Given the success ofA Quiet Place: Day One— which grossed a reported $241.4 million worldwide against a budget of $67 million — it seems likely producers would want a follow-up. And fortunately, Quinn is completely onboard, as he is a fan himself of the universe originally conceived by Bryan Woods, Scott Beck, and John Krasinski, who wrote the first two installments of the series, with Krasinski at the helm on both. Krasinski and Woods returned forDay Onewith a script co-written by director Michael Sarnoski. Quinn stated:

“I love that world. I’m so grateful for John to let me come on board and walk among brilliant minds, obviously. Taking on a mantle of that franchise and doing something very interesting and brilliant. I think there was so much of his sensitivity and his writing is just so, in the few words we do say, there’s such weight in it. So, yeah, who knows what will happen.”

Note that Quinn didn’t deny his casting as Harrison. If he has indeed been chosen by Mendes to play the role, until there is an official deal, the actor may have to remain mum until the powers that be say it’s okay to talk.
