Yesterday we reported that theTV ratingsfor NBC’s late night sketch comedy seriesSaturday Night Livehit a six-year high, withAlec Baldwinreturning to host for a record 17th time. The actor has been a regular fixture on the show this season, recurring as U.S. PresidentDonald Trump, with the show also featuring another guest appearance fromMelissa McCarthyas Trump’s White House Press SecretarySean Spicer. One of the most memorable sketches, though, was a parody withSNLregular cast membersBeck BennettandKate McKinnonplaying CNN’sJake Tapperand Counselor to the PresidentKellyanne Conwayin a spoof of Fatal Attraction. After the sketch aired,Kellyanne Conwayresponded through social media.

The sketch in question began withJake Tapper(Beck Bennett) ending his CNN news showState of the Union, withBobby Moynihanplaying an unidentified crew member, who praised the news anchor for not lettingKellyanne Conwayon his program tonight, because she has too many credibility issues. When the news anchor arrives at his home, Kellyanne (Kate McKinnon) is waiting for him in this four-minute sketch that is essentially a parody of the 1987 classic thrillerFatal Attraction. Yesterday,Kellyanne Conwaytook toTwitterto respond to the sketch, with this brief statement.

“Inquiring minds re: #SNL: @jaketapper & I spoke this morning just before brunch time. No boiling bunnies on the menu.”

The sketch featured a derangedKellyanne Conwaystooping to whatever lengths she needs so she can get back on the news, and it marks the second time in as many weeks that someone connected to PresidentDonald Trumphas responded to a sketch about them. Two weeks ago,Melissa McCarthymade a surprise appearance onSNLto play White House Press SecretarySean Spicerin a very popular sketch. This causedSean Spicerto respond in an interview, where he said he thought the sketch was funny, but thatMelissa McCarthywent a bit “overboard” with his gum-chewing habits.Melissa McCarthyreturned once again for another White House press briefing sketch this week, and even made fun of the gum chewing suggestions.

Sketches aboutDonald Trumpand his administration have dominated this season ofSaturday Night Live, withAlec Baldwinmaking frequent appearances to portray the new President. This week’s sketch withBeck BennettandKate McKinnonasJake TapperandKellyanne Conwaycomes in the aftermath of the realKellyanne Conway’s controversy regarding the “Bowling Green massacre,” which she said was part of the justification of the divisive Muslim travel ban. Since no actual terrorist massacre ever occurred in Bowling Green, Kentucky,Kellyanne Conwaylater stated that she was referring to the 2011 arrest of two Iraqi refugees in Bowling Green, Kentucky, who were arrested for trying to provide support to al-Qaeda terrorists in Iraq.
