The CW’s latest superhero seriesDC’s Legends of Tomorrowhas passed the halfway point of its first season, which continues with the new episodeNight of the Hawk, airing Thursday, March 10 at 8 PM ET. Much likeArrowandThe Flash, the show features numerous nods to DCheroesand villains, butTelevision Promoshas debuted a new clip from tomorrow night’s episode, which teases a nod to the network’s first DC series,Smallville. The clip reveals that the show’s main villain, Vandal Savage (Casper Crump), has surfaced in the 1950s, where he has assumed the identity of Dr. Curtis Knox.

In the 2007Smallvilleepisode entitledCure,Dean Cain(Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman) played Curtis Knox, a villainous, immortal doctor who was originally supposed to beVandal Savagein the episode, working under an alias. However, the character was deemed to be off limits by the studio, so they changed his name to Curtis Knox. ThisDC’s Legends of Tomorrowepisode seems to pay homage to thisSmallvilleepisode, with Vandal Savage working at a psychiatric hospital under the name Curtis Knox.

This episode centers on the team tracking Savage to a small town in Oregon during the 1950s. Upon arrival, they discover there have been a recent string of murders and they suspect Savage is involved. Professor Stein and Sara go undercover at a psychiatric hospital, where Savage is working as a doctor, to find out his plan. While there, Sara meets a nurse named Lindsay (guest star Ali Liebert) and sparks fly. This clip shows how Sara saved Lindsay from being harassed by a doctor, and when Lindsay takes Sara on a tour of the hospital, we see a photo of Vandal Savage as Dr. Curtis Knox.
