Last season, actressMeganlyn Echikunwokecame aboard to play theDC Comicscharacter Vixen in anArrowguest starring role, and she also signed on to voice the character in CW Seed’s animated web seriesVixen. While we don’t know if Vixen will be back forArrowthis fall, The CW’sLegends of Tomorrowis bringing in a different version of this superhero. ActressMaisie Richardson-Sellershas come aboard to play this new version of Vixen inLegends of Tomorrow, although she won’t be replacingMeganlyn Echikunwoke.

This will enableMegalyn Echikunwoketo keep voicingVixenon theanimated series, and possibly return toArrowat some point. Given the time travel nature ofDC’s Legends of Tomorrow, it’s also possible that both Amaya and Mari could meet somewhere down the road.
Vixenwas created by writerGerry Conwayand artistBob Oksner, who first appeared in 1978. Vixen is the latest in a long line of heroes who, thanks to powers derived from the Tantu Totem, given to them by African mythological hero Anansi, can assume the abilities of any animal that exists on earth, along with a healing factor that makes her hard to kill. Vixen was once a member of theSuicide SquadandJustice League, before being rebooted as part of DC’s New 52.
