Now thatBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justiceis available to watch on Blu-ray and DVD, along with the extended, R-rated Ultimate Edition, fans have been discovering Easter Eggs that they didn’t catch the first time around in theaters. Last month, a fan noticed anEaster Eggthat revealed Batman’s Bat-computer was connected to the “Oracle Network,” which may have been a subtle reference to the Batgirl/Oracle character. Now, a new Easter Egg offers a subtle reference to Superman co-creatorJoel Shuster. This Easter Egg was even confirmed by directorZack Snyder.
The Easter Egg was first noticed by aTwitteruser calling himself Critical Mas, who noticed that the shape which formed in a pane of broken glass looked quite peculiar, and familiar. Using his seemingly considerable powers of deduction, Critical Mas discovered that this shape closely resembles the outline of the Canadian province of Ontario, which is whereSupermanco-creatorJoe Shusterwas born, in the city of Toronto. Critical Mas reached out to directorZack Snyder, cinematographerLarry Fongand set photographerClay Enosseeking confirmation for this Easter Egg, which he got fromClay Enos. Here’s whatClay Enoshad to say, revealing thatZack Snyderhad confirmed the Easter Egg.
“I just showed this to Zack and he said, #finally someone noticed.”
