Last month, Marvel Entertainment announcedthat their expansive comic book universe will all come to an end with theSecret Warsseries, set to debut this May. The eight-issueSecret Warswill bring the entire Marvel universe together in a new realm known as BattleWorld, and it will also spawn a number of “side series” and “mini series,” one of which was announced today, entitledA-Force, the first all-female version ofThe Avengers. And there came a day, a day unlike any other, when Earth’s mightiest heroines found themselves united against a common threat. On that day, A-Force was born-to fight the foes no single Super Hero could withstand! Their glory will never been denied! Heed the call, A-Force Assemble!
Since theMarvel Cinematic Universeis already mapped out throughPhase Three, theA-Forceannouncement shouldn’t affect the MCU immediately, but there is still much we don’t know aboutPhase Four. Since the contracts for all the current Avengers (Robert Downey Jr.,Chris Hemsworth,Chris Evans,Jeremy Renner,Mark Ruffalo) are essentially winding down, it’s possible that this Avengers team may give way to theA-Force, after the two-part adventureAvengers: Infinity War Part 1andAvengers: Infinity War Part 2, which closes out Phase Three.
Naturally, this is all speculation at this point, but it has already been rumored that the Avengers lineup will change drastically afterAvengers: Age of Ultron, but they will all likely come back for the two-part Infinity War adventure.
