Hollywood veteranMickey Rourkecontinues to take shots at other celebrities, with Amber Heard becoming his latest target. Rourke has been in the news lately forcalling Tom Cruise “irrelevant,“but that wasn’t the only buzzworthy thing he said in his recent interview withPiers Morgan. Rourke even broke down while recalling his friendly visits to Russian President Vladimir Putin and urged him to stop the Ukraine invasion, but just a few moments later,Rourke returned to his outspoken self, making some unsavory remarks about theAquamanstar Amber Heard.
Amber Heard has been involved in a multimillion-dollar defamation trial after her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, sued her for a Washington Post op-ed she published in 2018. Heard claimed that she was a survivor of domestic violence, and although she didn’t take any names, Depp argued it was evident she was talking about him as she accused him of the same in 2016. And the widely publicized defamation suit recentlyconcluded in favor of Depp, with the jury finding Heard guilty of defaming thePirates of the Caribbeanstar and ordering her to pay $10 million in damages.
Rourke found himself in a similar position in the 90s when he was blacklisted in Hollywood. While the exact cause is unknown, it was likely fueled by his rogue on-set behavior and his 1994 arrest on suspicion of spousal abuse against his wife, Carré Otis. Although the charges were dropped, and the couple soon reconciled, Rourke ended up losing work. Here’s what he told Piers Morgan.
“[I’ve known] Johnny for many years, but I don’t really know him intimately. All I could say is, I was in a situation one time where I got blamed for something that I didn’t do. It cost me movie jobs for several years, and it caused me a bad reputation. Finally, the truth came out, but the truth came out after I lost movies and I lost jobs, and so I felt bad for somebody that is trying to get chopped down by some gold digger.”
When asked if he feels Heard is a gold digger, Rourke replied, “Abso-fu****g-lutely. Absolutely.”

Mickey Rourke Once Offered To Fight Elon Musk In Johnny Depp’s Place
This is not the first time Mickey Rourke has defended Johnny Depp. Back in 2020, heoffered to fight Elon Muskin response to the Tesla CEO challenging Johnny Depp to a cage fight. Rourke, a former boxer with a 6-0-2 professional record, dared Musk to fight “someone his own size,” in a fiery Instagram post.
“I just read that ELON MUSK has challenged Johnny Depp to a fight. I have the better idea if Elon Musk is in fighting mood he can fight someone his own size. I’d gladly love the opportunity to take you to school mr. tough guy Elon Musk. Bare fists, elbows and knees and I will only use one hand-my left. We can both put down $200k a piece, winner take all, no rules. So instead of picking on someone who weighs 130 lbs I am calling your ass out. Warmest regards, Mickey ‘Marielito’ Rourke.”
Musk was likely serious at the time, after Depp’s shocking texts were unearthed, which alleged that he had an affair with Amber Heard. In the chats, Depp referred to Musk as “Mollusk” and even threatened to remove his genitals. ButMusk has since buried the hatchetand wished Heard and Depp both well before the verdict. “I hope they both move on. At their best, they are each incredible,” he said.
As for Rourke, who looks unrecognizable nowadays, he will be next seen in Roman Polanski’sThe Palace, releasing in November 2022.
