The General’s identity has been revealed!My Adventures with Supermanis nearing its season one finale, and in the latest episode Lois Lane’s (Alice Lee) father, Sam Lane, was revealed to be the General (Joel de la Fuente) in a flashback. During the events of episode No. 9 titledZero Day: Part Two, the General has finally captured the Man of Steel (Jack Quaid). And during a flashback, the leader of Task Force X, akathe Suicide Squad in the comic books, is shown. 22 years in the past, Amanda Waller (Debra Wilson) can’t find the future General, and she says his name to herself:
“Sam, where are you?”
Up untilZero Day: Part Two, there hasn’t been all that much humanity to discuss, in terms of General Lane’s obsession with the Man of Steel. However, while he’s interrogating Superman, courtesy of a horrific flashback hologram, the General realizes that the Last Son of Krypton may not be a dangerous, alien invader after all.
While the revelation of the General’s identity might not have been that big a surprise to diehardSuperman fans, the look on his face when Lane finally discovers there’s more to the Man of Steel than just being an alien threat, was an emotional turning point for the General — and arguably for the fans of the animated series.

General Lane No Longer Leads Task Force X
The General is revealed to have a heart inZero Day: Part Two. Finally, Lois Lane’s father sees the humanity in Superman and realizes he may not be the enemy after all. Unfortunately, the General’s new outlook costs him dearly with Task Force X. Amanda Waller tells Sam Lane he is no longer in charge, and that could spell disaster for the Man of Steel in the season finale of theAdult Swimanimated series.
Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen (Ishmel Sahid) have both separately seen and observed the horrifying footage concealed in File X. The unforgettable images reveal an evil, tyrannical Superman in the DC multiverse — behold an Elseworlds version of the Last Son of Krypton — who appears to be wiping out civilians and causing massive amounts of destruction with his heat vision.
In the teaser for the season finale titled,Hearts of the Fathers, Clark Kent comes across the orb-shaped File X, while still in Smallville, and he sees the Elseworlds' Superman wreaking havoc and killing innocents. The small sliver of Green Kryptonite is also exposed from within the orb, and Clark agonizes from sudden radiation exposure to a fragment of his irradiated homeworld, the lost planet of Krypton. Lois hurries to aid the man she loves, but neither her nor Jimmy know what is happening to their friend.
The season finale of My Adventures with Superman drops Thursday, August 31 at midnight EDT on Adult Swim, andHearts of the Fatherswill be available to stream on Max the next day. And check out the teaser below:
