Good Omens, the TV series co-authored byNeil Gaiman, is gearing up for a new chapter in its second season, marked by a significant time jump. Following the introduction of Aziraphale, the angel, and Crowley, the demon, in the first season, the duo has forged a bond that transcends their opposing roles in the eternal battle between Heaven and Hell. Aziraphale and Crowley find themselves settled on Earth as representatives of their respective realms, adapting to the quirks of human existence. However, their peaceful existence is threatened as they face the daunting task of averting the arrival of the Antichrist, an event that would trigger the ultimate conflict known as Armageddon.

Recently, Neil Gaiman shed light on the timeline of Good Omens season 2, revealing that a significant period has elapsed since the conclusion of the first season. Responding to inquiries on his personalTumblraccount, Gaiman confirmed that the new season takes place a few years later.

“It takes place a few years after the end of Season 1. It feels like it’s probably in more or less real time, which would mean it’s four years on.”

What To Expect From Good Omens Season 2

In this second season,Good Omenstakes us on a deeper journey into the unique andunlikely friendship between Aziraphale and Crowley. These two characters have been on Earth since the very beginning, and after successfully preventing the Apocalypse, they are ready to enjoy a more relaxed and carefree life among humans in London’s vibrant Soho district. However, just when they thought everything was going smoothly, an unexpected messenger arrives and presents them with a surprising mystery. This unexpected turn of events sets the stage for new adventures and challenges for our characters.

Originally, the creators of Good Omens had planned for it to be a limited series. However, due to the overwhelming response from fans, Neil Gaiman (known for his work onThe Sandman), decided to give viewers more of what they love. This led to the development of an entirely new story for the second season, which wasn’t part of the original source material.The first trailer for the upcoming seasonof has been recently released, featuring the return of the duo. Played by Michael Sheen and David Tennant respectively, they embark on a new mission to save the world from an impending disaster. Check it out below.

Jon Hamm reprises his role as the archangel Gabriel, while Doon Mackichan and Gloria Obianyo also make a comeback as archangels Michael and Uriel, respectively. In addition to these familiar faces, Miranda Richardson, Maggie Service, and Nina Sosanya will be joining the new season. The lineup of actors is expanded even further with the introduction of new characters played by Liz Carr, Quelin Sepulveda, and Shelley Conn. David Tennant’s son, Ty Tennant, will be making his debut on the show as Ennon.

Good Omensseason two will debut on Prime Video on July 28.
