Netflix has set a premiere date forDead Boy Detectives. Based on characters fromNeil Gaiman’s iconicThe Sandmangraphic novels, the supernatural sleuths land on the streamer on April 25 (viaVariety). The series follows two (you guessed it) dead boy detectives who opt to stay on Earth to solve paranormal mysteries. The upcoming supernatural comedy-drama expands Netflix’sThe Sandmanuniverse.

“Meet Edwin Payne (George Rexstrew) and Charles Rowland (Jayden Revri), ‘the brains’ and ‘the brawn’ behind the Dead Boy Detectives agency. Teenagers born decades apart who find each other only in death, Edwin and Charles are best friends and ghosts… who solve mysteries. They will do anything to stick together – including escaping evil witches, Hell and Death herself. Dead Boy Detectivesexists inThe Sandman universe and expands the streamer’s Gaiman-based projects following the successful 2022 outing ofThe Sandman. The Sandman Season 2 Brings More of Death and the Endless Family
The Sandman Season 2 will get more Death, literally, according to actor Kirby Howell-Baptiste.
Gaiman is an author best known for his work onThe Sandmanseries, along with the novelsGood Omens, Coraline, American Gods,andThe Graveyard Books,among others.The Dead Boy Detectiveswere introduced by Gaiman and artists Matt Wagner and Malcolm Jones III inThe Sandman #25. On screen, the characters were previously portrayed by Charles Rowland and Edward Payne in Max’sDoom Patrol.
Dead Boy Detectiveswas initially ordered to series at Maxin 2021 before landing on Netflix this year.
