After two long years, the wait forFUBARSeason 2 is almost over, asNetflixhas revealed the first trailer for the new season ofArnold Schwarzenegger’s action comedy, as well as a release date of June 12. Premiering back in 2023,FUBARstars Schwarzenegger as Luke Brunner, a CIA operative who’s kept his identity hidden from his daughter (Monica Barbaro). The catch is she also works for The Agency, and her father has no idea. Season 2 sees the addition of Carrie-Anne Moss to the show, who complicates things even further for the action star.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ’90s Box Office Bomb Was Secretly Genius

‘Last Action Hero,’ one of the biggest box office bombs of the 1990s, is a clever satire and meta look at the action-adventure genre.

The newly-released trailer forFUBARSeason 2 highlights all the hard-hitting action we can expect in the new season, and from the looks of it, it was worth the wait. Schwarzenegger is back in fine form,as is Barbaro. Mixed in is the comedic timing of folks like Jay Baruchel and Fortune Feimster, and the appearance of Moss as Greta Nelson – an East German spy and former lover of Brunner. Check out the full synopsis ofFUBARSeason 2 and the new trailer below.

Arnold Schwarzenegger as Agent Harry Tasker holding a pistol while driving in Last Action Hero

“Luke Brunner is a veteran CIA operative who, up until recently, was on the verge of retirement. After his last mission in saving another operative - who just so happened to be his daughter - he’s back and face to face with new villains. This one is an old flame from Luke’s past who threatens to destroy the world…if she doesn’t destroy his life first.”

‘FUBAR’ Has Divided Fans and Critics

While everyone loves a good action romp – especially one featuring Schwarzenegger –FUBARhasmanaged to divide fans and criticswho can’t seem to agree on whether it’s worth your time. Season 1 holds a “rotten” rating of just 50% on Rotten Tomatoes, while its Popcornmeter sits a little higher at 68%. Critic Sergio Pereira from CBR says the series “struggles to create something more compelling,” while RT user Jeremy S says it’s “fast-paced, funny and really what you would expect from a Schwarzenegger TV show.”

That being said, folks on social media seem to be psyched about the return ofFUBAR, with many responding to Netflix’s reveal of the new trailer. Over on X, @DogeGirl321 calls it a “Major W,” while @Mark_KOP says they “can’t wait to watch the new season.” Many other replies echo those same sentiments, with the majority looking forward toFUBAR’s return in June.

Of course, the series has its obvious detractors, but for the most part,FUBARis fun for what it is: action and comedy mixed together to deliver some light-hearted fare that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s not highbrow cinema, nor is it a parody of itself. It’s exactly what it needs to be right now, as viewers search for shows to get lost in for a few hours to escape the horrors of their daily life. Check out all eight episodes ofFUBARSeason 2 when they hit Netflix on June 12, but in the meantime, Season 1 is also available to stream in its entirety.
