Netflixhas dropped the first official teaser for the new action thriller seriesThe Night Agent. The series is set to have its global rollout next month, premiering on Netflix on March 23. Ahead of the premiere, the first teaser, running at just under a minute long, showcases some of the intense action that’s in store for viewers in the show. You can check out the new trailer below.
The Night Agentis based on the novel by Matthew Quirk. The series is described as a “sophisticated, character-based, action thriller centering on a low level FBI Agent who works in the basement of the White House, manning a phone that never rings – until the night that it does, propelling him into a fast moving and dangerous conspiracy that ultimately leads all the way to the Oval Office.”

Shawn Ryan (The Shield,S.W.A.T.) created the series as serves as showrunner. Ryan also executive produces for MiddKid Productions alongside Seth Gordon and Marney Hochman. Also exec producing are Julia Gunn for Exhibit A, David Beaubaire for Sunset Lane Media, and Project X’s Jamie Vanderbilt, William Sherak, Paul Neinstein, and Nicole Tossou. Directors are Seth Gordon, Guy Ferland, Ramaa Mosley, Adam Arkin, and Millicent Sheldon.

Gabriel Basso Leads the Cast
In a lead role is Gabriel Basso, who stars as low level FBI agent Peter Sutherland. The story picks up with Peter getting a call from Luciane Buchanan’s Rose Larkin, a young tech CEO whose family has been targeted by assassins. With a conspiracy uncovered, Peter and Rose find themselves running for their lives in the tense series.

Ryan continues, “Peter doesn’t exist in the novel as some kind of unbeatable killing machine superhero. He’s an FBI agent, so he has some training, but he’s not Jason Bourne. He’s not a trained assassin. He’s very much an underdog in the middle of all this. He’s someone who, when he’s in a fight, those bruises stick around. He’s not just miraculously recovered immediately afterwards.”
The Night Agentalso stars Hong Chau (The Whale,Watchmen) as Diane Farr, the president’s Chief of Staff; Sarah Desjardins (Yellowjackets,Riverdale) as Maddie Redfield, the vice president’s teen daughter; Fola Evans-Akingbola (Call My Agent,Black Mirror) as Chelsea Arrington, the vice president’s daughter’s security head; Eve Harlow (NeXT,The 100) as Ellen, an unpredictable killer; Enrique Murciano (Bloodline,Father of the Bride 2) as Ben Almora, the “measured, steady hand” who heads the Secret Service; Phoenix Raei (Clickbait,Stateless) as Dale, Ellen’s partner; and DB Woodside (Lucifer,24) as Erik Monks, a Secret Service agent who recently returned to the job.
