Netflix is no stranger to canceling shows before they can catch their stride or when they appear to have a pretty devoted following, and one of the most disappointing of those cancelations wasSanta Clarita Diet, a horror comedy series that starred Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant. After three seasons, the series was canceled on a cliffhanger in 2019 and, as it turns out, this was done on purpose by the series' creators in a bold move to possibly prevent the streamer from ending the series....

Michael Douglas is currently preparing forAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The Hank Pym actor also announced that the movie is scheduled to hit theaters in 2022. The follow up toAnt-Man and the Waspwas officially announced in December 2020, though it had been in development since 2019. In addition to Douglas,Ant-Man 3will see the return of Michelle Pfeiffer, Paul Rudd, and Evangeline Lilly. Kathryn Newton joins the cast as Cassie Lang, whileLovecraft Country’s Jonathan Majors will be playing Kang the Conqueror....

Abrams and his Bad Robot production company are behind the reimagining of the Japanese anime, which went on to become a smash hit in 2017. As is often the case, Hollywood stepped in and decided it would be a good idea to give American audiences a version of this movie that will be aimed a little more specifically at them. Sometimes that pans out, sometimes it doesn’t....

Bill Maher dedicated his last segment ofReal Timeto bashing comic book fandom once again. The political comedian also took aim atKevin Smithduring his tirade on the culture of superheroes. Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee passed away back in November and Maher wrote a lengthy blogpost that many felt was disrespectful to Lee and the millions of fans from around the world who were in mourning. Maher went on to say adult comic book fans were a factor as to how Donald Trump won the presidency....

Lupita Nyong’o admits thatBlack Panther 2will feel “different” without lead star Chadwick Boseman, but Marvel fans should still be satisfied with the upcoming sequel. Although Boseman passed away last year after a four-year battle with cancer, the decision was made to move forward with the planned follow-up movie. Word from Marvel is that Boseman’s role won’t be recast, nor will he be digitally inserted into the movie. What exactly will happen inBlack Panther 2without Boseman remains unclear, butLupita Nyong’ois confident that the end result will properly honor his legacy....

Lionsgate has released the official trailer forCorner Office, a workplace comedy film starringJon Hamm(Mad Men,Top Gun: Maverick). Described as a comedy that’sreminiscent ofOffice SpaceandSeverance, the film follows Hamm as a workplace misfit struggling to find his place in a corporate world he doesn’t feel like he belongs in. The film will be released in theaters, On Demand, and Digital on Aug. 4, and you can watch the new trailer below....

WhileDwayne Johnsonis already heading into the DCEU as Black Adam later this year, he will first be heard as the voice of Krypto the Dog inDC League of Super Pets. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will have the story of his younger years told in NBC’s upcoming biographical series Young Rock. The news was announced by the network at NBC’s Television Critics Association presentation, confirming Johnson will star in the series in addition to executive producing alongsideFresh Off the Boatcreators Nanatchka Khan and Jeff Chiang.
