HasPedro Pascalbeen cast in the upcomingFantastic Fourmovie? Earlier, the casting news dropped thatThe MandalorianandThe Last of Usstar would “soon begin production” on the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) entry (perCBR, which has since deleted the information). And all this began with a biography posted by the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) Foundation. The original posting reportedly said the following, and now it mysteriously doesn’t:
Pascal recently wrapped production on Ridley Scott’s highly anticipated GLADIATOR 2 and will soon begin production on Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four.

It’s safe to speculate that someone uploading Pascal’sF4casting news must have made a mistake when they posted the news that the actor was joining the MCU in theFantastic Four. It would seem to be the only explanation now that the 90-minute Pedro Pascal Career Retrospective announcement, which was scheduled for Tuesday, doesn’t contain theF4information. Rather,the SAG-AFTRA website’s pagereads as follows, at the time of this writing:
“Pascal recently wrapped production on Ridley Scott’s highly anticipated GLADIATOR 2. Most recently, Pascal starred opposite Bella Ramsey in HBO’s THE LAST OF US, based off of the PlayStation and Naughty Dog game of the same name.”
In fact, if visitors to the SAG-AFTRA website try to click on the link to the Pedro Pascal Career Retrospective announcement now, they’ll either receive the bio without theF4content, or they’ll sometimes receive the following error message (below), which is what happened when MovieWeb tried to confirm the content:

The Fantastic Four: Is Pedro Pascal the Right Pick for Reed Richards?
While an official announcement has yet to be made, Pascal’s potential in the MCU bodes well for fans.
Pedro Pascal and the Materialists
If the now missing information was correct, Pedro Pascal will officially suit up in 2025’sFantastic Fourfilm. Unfortunately, the SAG-AFTRA’s bio forPedro Pascal’s careermakes no mention of theF4casting news. However, Pascal is “circling” the A24 romantic comedy,Materialists. According toDeadline, Chris Evans is also being considered, while Dakota Johnson is in talks to join the rom-com.Past Liveswriter and director Celine Song will helm the project. A logline for theMaterialistsreads as follows:
Materialists is a New York-set rom-com following a high-end matchmaker who gets involved with a wealthy man.
The global release of theMaterialistsfalls on the shoulders of A24, but there’s no official word at this time about which roles Pascal, Evans and Johnson could play in the upcoming rom-com. The production should get underway in May of this year. Evans (Captain America) and Johnson (the Jessica Jones-like Madame Web) are both members of the Marvel family, and it seems Pascal may be joining the MCU whenF4begins production.
Fantastic Fouris currently slated to open in theaters on July 14, 2025, after first switching its theatrical release from November 8 of this year to Valentine’s Day of 2025.
