In thePower Rangers movie, which arrives from Lionsgate to kick of the spring 2017 movie season, Zordon and the Power Rangers robot assistant Alpha 5 will have a moremodern and organicfeel. Gone is the 50s sci-fi aesthetic that made Alpha 5 so charming. But perhaps he’ll have a better personality this time around.

The original bright poppy colors have been traded for darker, deeper shades of red and blue. But the usually cheery Bill Hader will be giving Alpha 5 his voice. The SNL alum signed on earlier in the year to take on the role. Last year, he also helped bring now-iconic ball droid BB-8 to life inStar Wars: The Force Awakens, creating the digital side to that little robot’s voice. Hader is joined by Bryan Cranston as Zordon and Elizabeth Banks as the main villain Rita Repulsa.
