There is still much we don’t know aboutRob Zombie’s next directorial effort31. But today, we are getting a first look at one of the main villains in this thriller. And the director thinks he’ll be solidified an icon once genre fans get a look at what he can and will do to torment unsuspecting members of the human race. We’re not sure to what extent this gruesome looking guy goes in dismembering his victims. But he’s certainly a handsome devil.
Meet Doom-Head, played in31by actor Richard Brake, who showed up in the hit moviesSpyandKingsman: The Secret Servicethis past year. The story of31sounds like someone putClownhouse,Sawand a whole bunch of severed limbs in a blender, coming up with a frothy puree of viscera that is sure to haunt your nightmares. Some who have taken a closer look atRob Zombie’s plans claim this could be his defining masterpiece of schlock cinema.
31follows five carnival workers who are kidnapped the night before Halloween and held hostage in a large secret compound known as Murder World. Once there, they have 12 hours to survive a terrifying game called31in which ‘The Heads’, murderous maniacs dressed as clowns, are released to hunt them down and kill them. Doom-Head doesn’t look like your typical clown. And it’s not quite clear if he is part of this group.
Rob Zombiemade his directorial debut in 2003 withHouse Of 1000 Corpses, carving out a unique and sometimes polarizing niche for himself in the horror market. While his style would remain in tact, his skills became more defined with the horrifying and gory sequelThe Devil’s Rejects. He then stepped into the world of horror remakes for 2007’sHalloweenand the 2009 follow-upHalloween II. He then returned to the realm of original stories with 2013’sThe Lords of Salem, perhaps his most dividing movie yet.
Love him or hate him as a musician or a filmmaker, there is no denying the talent on display in these films.Rob Zombiehas a unique and cleaver way of creating memorable characters. And it looks like he’ll be at it again with31. About his latest creation Doom-Head, he had this to say viahis Facebook page.

Will Doom-Head be the next great villain? More iconic than Otis or, god forbid, even Captain Spaulding? Some might think these words blasphoumous! Even if Doom-Head doesn’t live up toRob Zombie’s more gruesome creations, he has to be better than some of the ghouls we’ve gotten in movies lately. There hasn’t been a fresh Freddy or Jason unleashed on screen in years. Do you think Richard Brake is up to the challenge? And does his scary face hint at the franchise potential of31?
