The studio will likely air a newSuper Bowl TV spotfor their superhero adventure, with starRyan Reynoldsappearing at various events surrounding the big game. As it turns out, the actor is also featured in another newSuper Bowlad forHyundai, and although it has nothing to do withDeadpool, it’s still quite entertaining.
The ad features two women driving a new Hyundai Elantra, when they enter what’s known as “Ryanville, Population: Yes.” As these ladies soon discover, this entire town is populated with different versions ofRyan Reynolds. TheseRyan Reynoldsclones are seen riding a bicycle, getting a speeding ticket, working on a construction crew and even playing a game of football. The ad shows how this new car has “Auto Emergency Braking,” which will stop the car by itself, even if the driver is “distracted.”
As forDeadpool, 20th Century Fox hasn’t confirmed yet that the studio will be debuting a new TV spot during the big game, but it seems likely since the movie debuts just a few days after the game, on February 12. For those who will be in the San Francisco area during the big game, 20th Century Fox has lined up a number of different promotional events as well. Star Ryan Reynolds will be running a food truck and handing out the Merc’s favorite food, chimichangas on Friday night, and on Saturday night, the studio will take over a local bar near the stadium, which will be renamed Sister Margaret’s Bar after the watering hole in the movie. The studio will also hold the official press junket at the bar, whereRyan Reynoldsand his co-starT.J. Millerare expected to serve drinks and play darts with the journalists. 20th Century Fox will also take over Snapchat on Sunday to promote the movie.
